Regulation (EU) No. 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016 (effective as of May 25, 2018).

The Institut de Radioprotection et de Sûreté Nucléaire (IRSN) is committed, in the context of its activities and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), to ensuring the protection, confidentiality and security of the personal data of users of its services, as well as to respecting their privacy.

Only data that is strictly necessary to provide the information services requested by the user is collected.

The present "Personal data protection policy" describes the procedures for collecting, storing and processing personal data concerning users, obtained when registering for our information services.

Your data is processed in compliance with the law.

All processing of personal data by IRSN personnel is carried out in strict compliance with current legal obligations.

All data is collected for a specific and legitimate purpose, which is clearly explained at the time of collection.

Your data is processed mainly for the following purposes:

  • Managing your subscription to the site's newsletters
  • Managing your registration for events organized by IRSN.

To enable us to carry out all these processing operations, your explicit consent is required and given at the time of registration.

You may withdraw your consent at any time without affecting your relationship with the Institute.

Your data is kept only as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

IRSN guarantees that your personal data will be kept in accordance with the purposes for which it was collected.

When your data is no longer required to provide the services you requested, only information that is subject to a legal archiving obligation, or for which you have given us your consent to retain it, is kept. All other data is deleted.

IRSN ensures the security of your data.

The personal data we collect may be entered and processed in computer systems. The technical resources used by IRSN are in compliance with current security practices.

IRSN employees who may have access to your personal data in the course of their duties are bound by the strictest confidentiality.

IRSN only transmits your data to authorized recipients.

The main recipients of your data are the internal departments authorized to process it.

The list or categories of recipients involved in the processing of your data can be found in the legal notice and on the site's collection forms.

Under no circumstances will the Institute share or disclose your personal data, except in the following cases:

  • When the Institute is obliged to do so by a judicial authority or by law,
  • When the Institute must share your personal data with a supplier or service provider in order to provide you with the service or information you have requested (specified at the time of collection).

The Institute informs you of the use of cookies and other tracking devices.

Cookies are small text files that are placed and stored on your computer or smartphone when you visit a site. They enhance the user experience and are used to operate our site, measure how you use it to better meet your expectations or offer you additional services in line with your interests.
