Workshop on the future of Radiological Protection
With the publication of the paper “Keeping the ICRP recommendations fit for purpose” in 2021, the International Commission on Radiological Protection has embarked on a review and revision of the system of Radiological Protection that will update the 2007 general recommendations in ICRP Publication 103. In this perspective, an open and transparent involvement process of organisations, individuals, and of all interested parties has been set up.
While it is recognized that the system is robust and has performed well, it must adapt to address changes in science and society to remain fit for purpose. Currently, several issues are under-investigation by a series of ICRP Task Groups to integrate the recent scientific and societal developments. In this process, special attention is dedicated to identifying the possible improvement of the radiological protection of people and the environment together with addressing the issues for its implementation.
At the occasion of the venue of the members of the ICRP Main Commission in France, a one-day workshop on the future of radiological protection will be organised on the 19th of March 2024, at IRSN in Fontenay-aux-Roses from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. This workshop is organised by IRSN, CEPN and ICRP. It will provide an opportunity for presenting the recent developments of ICRP and exchanging on the views and experience of representatives of the French radiological protection community.
The workshop will be in English. Online participation will also be possible.
Here is the preliminary program and the registration link.
Participation is free, but registration is required, for both in person or online attendance.
