Governance
The Institute for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN) is a public industrial and commercial establishment (EPIC) whose missions are defined by law no. 2015-992 of August 17, 2015 on energy transition for green growth . The organization and governance are specified in Decree No. 2016-283 of March 10, 2016. It is placed under the joint supervision of the Minister in charge of the Environment, the Minister of Defense and the Ministers in charge of Energy, of Research and Health.
Governance
The Research Orientation Committee (COR) in nuclear safety and radiation protection is a consultative body that develops a global approach to the orientation of research. The Scientific Council gives an opinion on IRSN programs, it evaluates their results and can make recommendations on the direction of activities. The Ethics and Deontology Commission is a consultative body responsible for advising the ODISCE Board of Directors on the drafting of deontology charters applicable to the various activities of the establishment and for monitoring their application. The committee will stimulate regular and in-depth dialogue to promote new interactions between science and society on the expertise of nuclear and radiological risks.
